The Kate Austin story

A better way through family law.

We built a specialist practice for people who have chosen agreement over conflict—and want the legal process to respect that decision.

Rachel Stubbs, Principal Solicitor and Accredited Family Law Specialist

Why we changed direction

The traditional system was not serving the people who needed it most.

After almost two decades in family law, the problems were impossible to ignore: proceedings stretched on too long, cost too much and left families exhausted.

Rachel’s first practice, Rachel Stubbs & Associates, began in Camden and grew to three offices with almost thirty staff. It was a successful firm, but growth came with a professional and personal cost.

Scaling back created the opportunity to start again in Brisbane—with a narrower purpose and clearer rules. Kate Austin Family Law would help amicable parties turn their own agreements into legally binding Consent Orders without adding negotiation, conflict or unpredictable fees.
